Simply Songs & Stories

(registration link below)

A series of cozy, intimate and totally acoustic performances kicks off at

7pm Thursday 27 May

at Gang Gang Cafe & Bar

More akin to a personal performance in your own lounge room, a selection of Canberra’s best known balladeers will share a couch, taking turns performing completely acoustic renditions of their favourite songs accompanied by the personal stories that inspired them. Entry is free but donation to Canberra’s Domestic Violence Crisis Service are encouraged.

The evening promises a gentle shift-in-gears for a veritable smorgasbord of feature artists normally familiar with festival stages and packed-out interstate venues. Hosted by Matty Ellis and featuring local musical luminaries Reverend Bones, Hannah Beasley and Sanjiva De Silva.

Local Yoga was conceived as a practical way to support Canberrans in the aftermath of the 2020 bushfires and COVID pandemic.  Not to be confused with a yoga studio, Local Yoga is a collection of local people, local spaces and local businesses committed to improving our local community’s mental and physical well-being through accessible yoga initiatives that directly raise awareness and support for local community services. Local Yoga provides free fundraising yoga classes – physical and online – in addition to events featuring yoga and live music, as a way to encourage Canberrans to use their own unique abilities to positively influence the space around them.
